Up In Smoke BBQ is not a restaurant, food truck, or eatery...it’s a BBQ JOINT. Barbecue is a an emotional food, spreading far and wide across America this soul food courses through the veins of this country. At Up In Smoke BBQ, we try our best to keep things legit. All of our sides, sauces, and rubs are made in house from scratch, every time, no exceptions (Except for our Caribbean Sauce - that's Matouk's). All of our BBQ is cooked on stick burners (aka wood fired BBQ Pits for all you first timers) which undoubtedly requires a high level of effort and care to achieve a quality finished product. All of the pits we cook on are built here by our head Pitmaster and creator of Up In Smoke, Will Rapp. Will had an idea sometime in 2015 that he would learn how to weld, build his own pit, and open a REAL BBQ joint in Midcoast Maine. In 2018 Up In Smoke was born in Thomaston, ME and moved in 2019 to Rockland, ME.
All in all, we strive to put out a top notch product that keeps people coming back again and again. Our goal is for people to enjoy and love our meat, and do so in a comfortable atmosphere. Whether you’re coming to buy a whole brisket for a family gathering (which will absolutely make you look like a genius), buy a custom built BBQ Pit, or just sit by the harbor and enjoy a pulled pork sandwich for lunch....we’ll do our best to make it special for you.
